In this session PIER CLOSER will join with Piergroup to look at the W.S. Graham Centenary exhibition Voice and Vision; the poetry and art of W.S. Graham in advance of it opening to the public on Saturday 22 September.
The exhibition celebrates selected works by the Scottish poet alongside artists from the Pier Arts Centre Collection, such as Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Barbara Hepworth, Roger Hilton, Peter Lanyon and Ben Nicholson, who all worked closeby to Graham in Cornwall.
As well as poems, he produced visual and mixed-media works which have never been exhibited before. David Nowell Smith will join the discussion in order to delve a little deeper into the many manuscripts, decorative letters, watercolours and oils which illuminate the vast range and diversity of Graham’s creative output.
Admission is Free and no booking is necessary. New members welcome
