Jock McFadyen RA is one of the UK’s leading painters. His work responds to a wide range of sources, from inner city life to industrial landscapes.

A visit to Orkney in the 1990s, signalled a shift in the artist’s work to include rural landscapes reflecting his travels in Orkney, around the UK and beyond.

Rowan Moore is a writer and architecture critic for The Observer and has recently completed a book on Jock McFadyen’s work.
