The Pier Arts Centre is delighted to be supporting this year’s Stromness Shopping Week. The hugely popular Pavement Art event will be going ahead online again this year. Young artists from all over the world can take part!
To be included you need to do a chalk drawing outside on a pavement, path or driveway, as long as it is safe to do so, and take a photograph of it. Share your drawings on the Pier Arts Centre’s Facebook page, send a digital image of your work to isla.holloway@pierartscentre.com or via Facebook Messenger @thepierartscentre. Don’t forget to include your name and age. Pictures should be sent in by 5pm on Thursday 12 August 2021. Images and artists details will be shared on the Pier Arts Centre website and social media platforms over the weekend of Shopping Week.
Keep safe and carry on chalking!
Disclaimer: Safety First
The safety of our pavement artist events has always been a high priority for staff at the Pier Arts Centre. This year, when we’re not there to watch over you, make sure you choose a safe place to make your drawing, away from busy streets, parked cars, cyclists, pedestrians, pier edges and other places with short or steep drops.
