Recreate a poster from the Pier Arts Centre archive and learn traditional letterpress printing.
10am-4pm £45 (members £30) Booking Essential
When the Pier Arts Centre first opened in 1979, many of its exhibition posters were printed in Stromness by WR Rendall. Since the late 1980s Soulisquoy has owned the Columbian press and both lead and wooden typeface that would have been used to print the original posters.
During this workshop you’ll re-create an original poster, learn a bit about typesetting, inking up and printing the text on the hand-printing press
