Piergroup Social Evening

The 2016 Piergroup programme will kick-off with an open evening at the Pier Arts Centre on Thursday 4 February 7-9pm. The evening will include some practical art making activity as well as an opportunity to find out more about the group and the projects that it develops with the gallery. 
The evening will also be an opportunity to meet with students from Gray’s School of Art who are in Orkney for a week’s research trip. Piergroup is aimed at 16-25 year olds with a broad interest in visual art. Over a number of sessions spread throughout the year the group develop and work on a project with gallery staff. Previous projects have taken a variety of forms – depending on the interests and ideas of the group and their time commitment.
