Biography
Zoe Walker & Neil Bromwich have presented live performances at Tate Britain, The Whitechapel Gallery, CCA Glasgow, Modern Art Oxford, John Hansard Gallery and at Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney
Their Solo Exhibitions include BALTIC, Gateshead; ACCA Melbourne; Turner Contemporary, Margate; including Panacea projects at John Hansard Gallery, Southampton; Cornerhouse, Manchester; Milton Keynes Gallery, CCC Tours France, Centre d Art Contemporain Le Pavis, France. Selected Group Shows - include Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Kunstlerhaus, Vienna; Zeppelin Museum Germany; Camden Arts Centre and the South London Gallery, Fruitmarket, Edinburgh and Scottish National Gallery of Contemporary Art, Edinburgh
Their partnership has resulted in a number of high level international residencies and public commissions, including Celestial Odyssey Thessaloniki Biennale, Greece; One Day Sculpture, New Zealand; Siege Weapons of Love - Tank, in association with the land foundation in Chang Mai, Thailand; Foxgloves at Grizedale Arts Cumbria, My Island Home for the V&A Museum and the Art Lending Library at GI - Glasgow International with Market Gallery
Their most celebrated project Celestial Radio a pirate radio station was launched off-shore at Bradwell on Sea Essex in 2004. The Celeste has gone on to broadcast a series of unique site responsive sound works to audiences around the UK and Europe. In 2012 the duo launched a sister ship the Celestra in Sydney Harbour for the reopening of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia
Their work has been featured by publications such as Frieze, Flash Art, Contemporary, Art Monthly, Art Review, MAP, The Guardian, and has featured on BBC1 Imagine with Alan Yentob
A major monograph of their work Zoe Walker & Neil Bromwich is now available through Cornerhouse Books, along with the companion publication Panacea which features their collaborate project with Michael Pinsky which explores the cross-currents between art and wellbeing, featuring texts by JJ Charlesworth, Evelyne Toussaint & Sally O Reilly and is published by John Hansard Gallery
