Glasgow artist Lauren Printy Currie presents a talk about her exhibition Her Body remembered a night-blooming cereus, sweated industry and salt (what came near) which is this years exhibition in the Travelling Gallery, a mobile art exhibition that travels to schools and communities throughout Scotland on a custom-built, fully accessible bus.
The exhibition explores the rich fabric of women’s histories, through new works inspired by the the artists recent residency at the Glasgow Women’s Library, where the artist drew material and inspiration from the library's museum collection, archive and lending library.
The Travelling Gallery will be in Orkney from 9 - 14 September and will be open to the public at the following times:
Saturday 9 September – Orkney Library & Archive, Kirkwall, 11am to 5pm
Monday 10 September - Pickaquoy Leisure Centre, Kirkwall, from 11am to 5pm
Thursday 14 September - Stromness Travel Centre 11am to 5pm and 7pm to 8pm
